Live and deadly indeed – the introduction of an Indigenous-hosted NRL show on NITV will be a welcome addition to the 2016 seasons. Seeking to emulate the success of the Marngrook Footy Show the inclusion of Hodges and the rest of the crew gives it a real chance to be a much better option than that on commercial FTA TV.

Also live in Brisbane? Perfect.

NITV is excited to announce new weekly entertainment sports series, League Nation Live, kicking off in February 2016. Hosted by newly retired Broncos captain Justin Hodges, Deadly Award and Logie nominee actor Aaron Fa’Aoso, new faces and league fanatics Hannah Hollis and Jodan Perry and community league legend Nathan Appo, the 32-week series will capture the best of Australia’s favourite football code, the NRL, with the latest and greatest in entertainment joining the conversation, up close and personal in the studio.

Produced by Indigenous production company, Carbon Media, in front of a live Brisbane studio audience, the show will bring 90 jam-packed minutes of entertainment and sports each week. From community clubs to the State of Origin, all layers of the game will be covered by some of the country’s biggest league personalities.

Mark Ella, Executive Producer, NITV Sport, says: “Rugby League is huge in Indigenous communities, with 12% representation across the NRL, including some of the game’s biggest stars. NITV is committed to championing sport and we are excited to be offering a truly distinctive live rugby league entertainment offering for all audiences.”

Adam Check, NRL Head of Community, adds: ““I congratulate NITV and Carbon Media on their commitment to progressing League Nation Live. I look forward to watching the growth of the series in 2016 and thank NITV for its ongoing commitment to Rugby League and to our Indigenous communities.”

Wayne Denning, Executive Producer, League Nation Live, adds: “Without a doubt it’s an exciting opportunity to produce a truly unique show for families – 32 weeks, live, nationally, out of Brisbane, with an Indigenous cast talking all things NRL and entertainment.”
