The ABC has officially renewed Fisk for a fourth season, with the hit comedy set to return in 2027.
The announcement at the ABC’s 2027 Showcase on Wednesday confirms TV Blackbox’s exclusive report from Kerry Perry back in July that the series would return with its full cast.
Kitty Flanagan will reprise her role as probate lawyer Helen Tudor-Fisk, alongside Julia Zemiro, Aaron Chen, John Gaden and Glenn Butcher, with Marty Sheargold also confirmed to return for the new season.
The new season will see Helen struggle to manage the growing workload generated by the firm’s “First Ladies of Probate” model, with a Gruber & Fisk franchise also a possibility and guest cameos joining the returning cast.
Flanagan returns as co-creator, co-writer, co-director and star, with Penny Flanagan also writing the new season, which will film in North Melbourne and bring back the famous brown suit.
In a statement, ABC Head of Scripted Rachel Okine said the series had become a defining success for the broadcaster, highlighting its audience figures and awards recognition.
“Across three outstanding seasons, Kitty and Penny Flanagan have created a series that is distinctly Australian, universally relatable and consistently hilarious.”
Since premiering in 2021, Fisk has become one of the ABC’s biggest comedy successes, with its first three seasons ranking as the three most-watched non-kids programs ever on ABC iview and almost 10 million hours watched on the platform.
Love the series. Great sense of humour 👏
So excited for this.
I’ll be anxiously awaiting the release. Her voice and mutterings so funny.
I JUST rewatched the entire series and forgot about the scene where Helen had Roz’s hair style! Spit out my coffee and scared the cat. Bring on season 4!
Laura Fae Wood have you ever watched this? It is HILARIOUS and set in your home city ❤️🇦🇺
