Hamish Blake is taking on a very different kind of workplace in Stan’s new original series Unskilled Adult.
First revealed at Nine’s Upfronts last month, the eight-part comedy is Hamish’s latest project for Nine and Stan, produced through his new production company UA Productions, with the ‘CEO’ joined by a rotating workforce of friends including Sophie Monk, Ryan Shelton, Melanie Bracewell and Guy Montgomery.
The group will tackle jobs they have little to no experience doing, from welding and catering to construction and sewing, including a challenge that sees Hamish team up with his long-time comedy partner Andy Lee for another suitably unqualified adventure.

In this hilarious eight-part series, ‘CEO’ Hamish Blake and his ‘employees’ prove it’s never too late to learn a new skill – even if you have absolutely no idea what you’re doing.
Across eight episodes, Hamish and a revolving workforce of equally underqualified friends from the entertainment world will tackle a challenge none of them are remotely prepared for.
The employees include Becky Lucas, Hugh van Cuylenburg, Anne Edmonds, Lloyd Langford, Sophie Monk, Dom Littrich, Ryan Shelton, Susie Youssef, Bret McKenzie, Lu Dal Din, Melanie Bracewell, Alexei Toliopoulos, Andy Lee, Jack Post, Guy Montgomery and Abby Howells.
Tasks range from welding a trailer to catering a wedding, drywalling a salami shed and sewing costumes for a community theatre. Hamish and his team will jump in at the deep end and use their wits and lateral thinking to make up for the years of training and experience they’re missing.
They discover that being a beginner is equal parts frustrating, exhilarating, and ridiculous. At the end of each job, the client decides what the work is actually worth and how much, if anything, they’re prepared to pay.
At its heart, Unskilled Adult is a funny and optimistic celebration of having a go, being useless at something new and discovering that you’re never too old, or too unskilled, to learn.
