Network 10 has officially confirmed I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Australia will be rested in 2027, backing up TV Blackbox’s exclusive reporting from last week.
The move follows TV Blackbox’s exclusive by Rob McKnight revealing Paramount had axed the long running reality format, with producer ITV Studios Australia now preparing to shop the series to rival broadcasters and streaming platforms.
The celebrity survival series has been a regular fixture in 10’s entertainment slate for 12 seasons, most recently hosted by Julia Morris and Robert Irwin from the South African jungle.
While the network is describing the decision as a “rest”, the format is now actively being taken to market by ITV Studios Australia.
A spokesperson for Network 10 said the broadcaster was shifting focus as it reshapes its programming plans across platforms, while also hinting at future projects involving Morris and Irwin.
“We have made the decision to rest I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2027 as we focus on offering our audience a range of content on all platforms.”
In a statement to TV Blackbox, David Mott, CEO of ITV Studios Australia, said the company remained confident in the future of the franchise despite the setback at 10.
“Given this powerhouse brand’s appeal with audiences and sponsors alike, we are excited to take it out to market with other broadcasters and platforms so it can continue to entertain audiences for years to come.”
The confirmation comes after a turbulent season for the format, which saw 10 move away from the live model and pre record the entire run in a bid to cut production costs.
While the series launched strongly, audience numbers softened across the season as viewers reacted to the lack of live evictions and audience interaction.
Robert Irwin reflected on his three seasons hosting the series, describing the role as a “dream come true” after growing up watching the format and praising the opportunity to spotlight charities and personal stories alongside Julia Morris.
“We have had the honour of sharing incredible stories and create a platform to shine a light on amazing charities that our celebrities have supported along the way.”
Julia Morris also paid tribute to the production team and Network 10, describing the jungle format as the “best working experience” of her career after more than a decade with the show.
“I have loved every moment and will be forever grateful to Beverley and the whole team at Network 10 for not only believing in this show but nurturing it for 12 years.”
Industry attention will now turn to whether another broadcaster steps in to revive the format locally, particularly after Nine’s Adrian Swift recently indicated the network would be open to acquiring major entertainment franchises dropped by competitors.
For now, the jungle camp is packing up at 10, but ITV appears determined to keep the snakes, trials and celebrity meltdowns alive somewhere else.

Dump the show. Irwin needs to go to America, where he belongs.
John Eller mummy will have to go with him.
Mummy is always with him .. i’m sure that he couldn’t even have wank without getting her permission 🤣
Craig Gibson agreed🤩
Yeah, shows again how dumb the yanks are 🙂
Why does Irwin need to go America? Is he only able to be successful in America? Why can’t he be successful in Australia?
Should be that ch 9 trash Mafs.
Brett Rainbow agreed,
Im a celebrity would succeed if MAFS was axed
If MAFS was axed, any show that currently competes against it would enjoy increased levels of success.
Shit show – as for Morris- she rips off Joan Rivers presentation.
Great news..
Yay!
No more ads.
Yep. I f……ckin hate them.
But Roma what are we to do?
About time. No annoying singing ads fir it.
Great news. I wonder if 10 will put Big Brother in its place for an extended run. It seems unwise for them to keep Survivor in that slot given the audience erosion.
Next 10 shows to be axed: Taskmaster & Traitors
So many 10 shows have been axed for underperforming or flopping, still have to wonder how Beverly keeps her job.
I agree as they need to get David Mott back as he champion the network when he was there. Unlike Beverley McGarvey who constantly destroying Channel Ten. She needs to be booted
Ten does need something new to start the year with. With I’m A Celebrity gone and Survivor losing its audiance, its time to refresh Ten’s start to the year.
I’ll believe it when I see it
Georgie Byrne !!!!
Yay
Should have kept the show and got rid of Robert Irwin there was your problem !
Mary Kirkwood There’s a bidding war by other networks.
Mary Kirkwood nah, many problems. Over the years not one true celebrity and the other problem was the very unfunny Julia.
Mary Kirkwood hello, Julia moron is a disaster, that thing should be exiled!

Look at the 10 logo upside down … it looks like a snail that represents about how interesting anything that they broadcast is
Cya
When Chris left the show went to shit. He was the only funny person on the show and the only one that could make me laugh and I find it hard to laugh at anything these days.
Stupid show shud make the hosts eat that crap they have to eat
Was losing its shine.
Well the 8 regular viewers will be disappointed
Glen McBride Each of their fans 🤣
About time..!! 👍👍🤔
That sux I love Julia and Robert and the fun
First The Amazing Race, now Celebrity in the Jungle, what’s next 🤔
The first two seasons were great – it should have then be renamed “ I want to be a celebrity”.
Thank god! Rubbish
Good riddance… it was cruelty, not entertainment.
All of these comments are AI. No one gives 2 sh!ts IAC is ending. It didn’t rate. It was expensive to make.
Care Factor .. absolutely ZERO .. although I would say no more annoying fake Julia .. no more psuedo celebrities .. no more wasted airtime .. tah dah
That’s good news.
If they’d changed those abysmal hosts then it might have stood a better chance.
Another network could pick it up.
