Australia again came painfully close to Eurovision glory, with Delta Goodrem finishing fourth after a huge Grand Final performance in Vienna early this morning.
Millions tuned in as the Australian star delivered her soaring anthem Eclipse on one of television’s biggest live stages, capping off a Eurovision campaign that quickly became one of the contest’s most talked about moments.
SBS hailed Delta’s top five finish as a major moment for Australia at Eurovision, after weeks of strong fan support and growing momentum across the competition.
Bulgaria ultimately claimed its first ever Eurovision victory with Dara’s viral performance of Bangaranga, while Israel and Romania rounded out the top three.

SBS Managing Director Jane Palfreyman said Delta’s performance connected strongly with audiences both in Australia and overseas, while helping showcase the country’s ongoing presence in the competition.
“Delta delivered a spectacular performance of Eclipse that resonated with audiences around the world and sparked an incredible wave of excitement and support across Australia throughout the competition.”
Delta described representing Australia at Eurovision as unforgettable, thanking fans locally and internationally for backing her throughout the campaign.
“Representing Australia on the Eurovision stage and being part of this incredible community has been unforgettable. I’m so grateful for all the love and support from home and around the world, it has carried me every step of the way.”
The singer also used the occasion to announce her upcoming eighth studio album Pure, her first full length release in five years, alongside a series of intimate live performances later this year.
Behind the scenes, Australia’s staging team transformed the Wiener Stadthalle into a cinematic spectacle of light and shadow, complete with more than 7,000 Swarovski crystals stitched into Delta’s custom couture look.
Eurovision veteran Paul Clarke praised the singer’s professionalism and authenticity, calling the performance a proud moment for the Australian delegation.
“Delta Goodrem is a true professional and we couldn’t be prouder of what she achieved on the Eurovision stage.”
