Sylvester Stallone’s Tulsa King has locked in a fourth season as Paramount doubles down on the mobster drama.
Sylvester Stallone will be back in the cowboy boots of Dwight after streaming hit Tulsa King was locked in for a fourth season. The announcement comes just ahead of the season three premiere this weekend.
Season three puts Stallone’s Dwight under mounting pressure as his operation grows in Tulsa. With new threats circling, the toughest test comes in the form of the Dunmires, an entrenched wealthy family with little regard for old codes of conduct. The clash forces Dwight to defend both his business and his loved ones.
Paramount TV Studios and 101 Studios produce the drama, which had been tipped for a multi-season future when Stallone struck a fresh two-year deal last November. That agreement secured both season three and season four, with the actor also attached as an executive producer.
There is industry chatter that if the series continues to pull strong audience numbers, it could extend as far as six seasons.
The series features a wide supporting line-up including Martin Starr, Jay Will, Annabella Sciorra, Neal McDonough, Robert Patrick, Beau Knapp, Bella Heathcote, Chris Caldovino, McKenna Quigley Harrington, Mike “Cash Flo” Walden, Kevin Pollak, Vincent Piazza, Frank Grillo, Michael Beach and James Russo, with Garrett Hedlund and Dana Delany also appearing.
Behind the camera, Terence Winter will continue as executive producer and head writer into season four. Winter, known for Boardwalk Empire, steps back into the lead writing role as season three showrunner Dave Erickson departs.
