The highly anticipated 10-part series The Day of the Jackal, starring Academy Award® winner Eddie Redmayne and BAFTA® Award winner Lashana Lynch, is set to premiere on 7 November on BINGE and Foxtel. Ahead of its release, the official trailer and key promotional artwork have been unveiled, generating significant excitement for the new adaptation.

Based on Frederick Forsyth’s acclaimed novel and the iconic 1973 film, this reimagined version features Eddie Redmayne as the Jackal, a highly skilled and elusive assassin who takes on assignments for the highest bidder. However, following his latest hit, the Jackal finds himself the target of a relentless pursuit by a determined British intelligence officer, played by Lashana Lynch.

This tense game of cat-and-mouse leads to a series of high-stakes encounters across Europe, with both characters leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.

The cast also includes Úrsula Corberó (Money Heist), who plays Nuria, a central figure in the Jackal’s personal life, unaware of his true identity. The ensemble is rounded out by notable names such as Charles Dance (Game of Thrones, The King’s Man), Richard Dormer (Fortitude, Game of Thrones), and Chukwudi Iwuji (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3).

The series is penned by Ronan Bennett, the creator of the acclaimed series Top Boy, with Brian Kirk, known for his work on Game of Thrones and Luther, serving as the lead director. Gareth Neame and Nigel Marchant of Carnival Films act as executive producers alongside Redmayne himself, while Lynch takes on a co-executive producer role.

Other key behind-the-scenes figures include Sam Hoyle for Sky Studios, Sue Naegle as executive producer, and Christopher Hall as the series producer. Forsyth is also credited as a consulting producer, ensuring the adaptation stays faithful to the essence of his original work.

Produced by Carnival Films, a part of Universal International Studios, and distributed globally by NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution, the series promises to offer an intense and modern re-telling of Forsyth’s classic thriller.

The Day of the Jackal will premiere on BINGE and air at 9pm on Foxtel Showcase on Thursday, 7 November, with episodes available via Foxtel On Demand.
