The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) is set to launch a captivating new factual series titled Tony Armstrong’s Extra-Ordinary Things. Scheduled to premiere on Tuesday, 21 May at 8 pm on ABC TV, viewers can also stream all episodes immediately on ABC iview.

This five-part series features the charismatic Tony Armstrong, a beloved presenter and host, who explores Australia on his bicycle. Armstrong’s journey uncovers the lesser-known histories embedded in everyday items, brought to light through his interactions with Australians across the nation. These objects, though ordinary at a glance, reveal stories of profound historical significance.

Armstrong’s ambitious goal through his travels is to assemble a unique exhibition for the National Museum of Australia in Canberra. This exhibition, aimed at showcasing these extraordinary stories, is set to open on 21 June.

Tony Armstrong’s Extra-Ordinary Things distinguishes itself by focusing on the powerful narratives held by ordinary Australians, making it much more than just a travel or history show. It is a celebration of the country’s rich heritage, narrated through its people and their treasured possessions.
