Catch Glen Powell in Hit Man, a story of romance and deception on Netflix.

Inspired by a true story, ‘Hit Man’, the latest film from Academy Award-nominated writer and director Richard Linklater, makes its debut on Netflix on 7 June 2024, following a selective theatrical release in May. This neo-noir comedy, co-written with actor Glen Powell, features a unique narrative twist centred around a professor who uncovers his unusual skill as a counterfeit hit man.

In ‘Hit Man’, Glen Powell stars as Gary Johnson, a professor who leads a double life assisting the New Orleans Police Department by posing as a hit man. This setup is designed to ensnare individuals looking to hire someone to commit murder. The plot thickens when Gary, under one of his hit man aliases, entangles with Madison, portrayed by Adria Arjona. What starts as part of his undercover work spirals into a complicated mix of romance and deception.

As Madison falls in love with Gary‘s alter ego, the mysterious and alluring Ron, their relationship triggers a domino effect of pretending, mistaken identity, and increasing tension. The film delves into themes of identity and morality, weaving a clever, existential comedy set against a backdrop of suspense and intrigue.

Produced by a team including Mike Blizzard, Richard Linklater, Glen Powell, and Jason Bateman, with executive production by Stuart Ford, Zach Garrett, and others, ‘Hit Man’ promises a blend of sharp wit and thrilling moments. The film also features Austin Amelio, Retta, Sanjay Rao, Molly Bernard, Evan Holtzman, and Gralen Bryant Banks in supporting roles.

Hit Man premieres 7 June, 2024 on Netflix.
