GOOD MORNING SAMOA. It’s Survivor Sunday and 11 Castaways remain, Let’s recap Australian Survivor: Titans Vs Rebels S9 Ep 16, on Channel 10 and 10 play.
It’s day 31 on Australian Survivor: Titans vs Rebels. All the men have have scraggly stubble and beards now and I’m very ok with it. Once my now-husband grew his beard, I never looked back.
New alliance alert: Forget, Guardians of the Galaxy, in Australian Survivor we have the Guardians of Samoa beach, starring Feras as Peter Quill. Loveable sidekick Raymond as Rocket, Alex plays big ball of chaos, Drax. Ri is Mantis and Aileen is the ever-so-clever Glamora.
“I am Groot?” Kirby calls. Actually, no, she is growing tired of being a weedy sidekick. She’s taken a backseat for the past few tribals coming into merge but it’s time for her to drive this spaceship. Kirby’s secretly the Nebula of the Guardians alliance and wants to blindside Aileen because she is blocking Kirby from working with Feras.
The castaways enter the Survivor auction! All castaways have been given $500 spending money. The first item for sale; popcorn.
“$320! I want that ****ing popcorn!” Raymond rages like an angry Rocket. Alex raises his bet but for $400, Raymond wins his popcorn and his mood is satiated.
“I have $100 left, I can still be dangerous.” Raymond warns.
There is a covered box on offer and for his whole $500, Feras buys the unseen prize, much like desperate homebuyers buying blind in the 2021 COVID property boom. And for $500, he wins… clean teeth. He gets to brush his teeth with a real toothbrush and toothpaste. JLP is feeling sympathetic, at least he gets to keep the mints.
“What were you expecting?” JLP asks.
“Literally anything else,” Feras replies. As Feras complains about his prize, Raymond finds something that doesn’t look like popcorn in his bowl. It’s a clue! He pockets it.
Raymond has won the ultimate vote. “Everyone of your tribemates must vote for you and your one vote can override the whole game.” However, if one person does not vote his way, he risks being sent home. “Feels more like a disadvantage,” Raymond winces. Yes, it’s a very dangerous power and he has three tribals to use it.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the beach. Kirby pulls Jaden aside. “I am Groot?” Kirby says to Jaden. “I am Groot!” Jaden replies enthusiastically. Jaden explains to Kirby why flipped to vote out Eden because “he wasn’t involved in the conversation.” And just like that, we see the birth of a new unlikely alliance; Kirby and Jaden. The Nebula and Kraglin of our Guardians alliance.
Today’s immunity challenge is not a hold challenge – yes! The castaways need to balance sticks on a rope attached to balance beam. Kinda like the last couple challenges, I guess. Aileen and Kitty are the first players to get all eight of their blocks balanced and its a snails race to the end of the mat. Aileen gets within inches of the mat when her blocks fall over and she has to start over. Kitty wins immunity! She is safe from tonight’s vote.
Coming into tonight’s vote, Feras directs the Guardians of Samoa beach alliance, to put half their votes on Mark and half on Caroline.
The K&C (Kitty and Caroline) Coaches alliance – now with their ‘trusty’ passengers Mark and Valeria in tow – is looking very shaky. Kirby approaches K&C Coaches and offers them to help her, Ri and Jaden blindside Aileen. Voting for Aileen seems legit for the rest of K&C Coaches but Caroline is perplexed. She wants to vote with her alliance but that means going against Feras, and she doesn’t want to betray him again. But her feelings suddenly change when Kirby tells Caroline that Feras putting votes against her name. The K&C bus anxiously shifts up a gear.
Feras spots an intense conversation between the 4 members of K&C Coaches. He demands Caroline and Kitty tell him who Mark has told them to vote for but there’s an hour before tribal and Caroline “still hasn’t been given a name by Mark.” Feras’ BS detection is going off, he’s finding the K&C bus schedule too unreliable to work with. Now, he’s told the Guardians to dump all their votes on Mark, whilst still threatening to vote out Caroline.
There’s 0 context as to why Alex feels the need to flush his idol and points the finger at Val for plotting against him – whatever. JLP points out there have been 0 idols played properly this season and… Alex doesn’t feel like adding another flushed idol to the tally tonight.
Caroline’s still freaking out about being sent home, in the midst of tribal and when it’s too late, Feras realises Kirby, Jaden and Ri may not be as loyal as Guardians should be.
Kirby, Jaden, Rianna, Kitty, Mark, Valeria and Caroline vote for Aileen.
Feras, Raymond, Aileen and Alex vote for Mark.
And just like that. Aileen becomes the 14th person voted out of Australian Survivor: Titans vs Rebels.
“Woo! First member of Survivor jury!” Aileen shimmies off into the distance. She’s so excited to be blindsided, it’s a little unnerving.
The Guardians Glamora (Aileen) is gone forever and our poor Peter Quill (Feras) is devastated.
And old mate, Caroline is now fuming that the tribe raised her blood pressure through the roof for nothing.
“Good play Kirby,” Feras says to Kirby.
“No more wedge,” Kirby smirks.
