The real battle is what happens at 9pm (or 8:53pm, or 9:06pm, or whenever the lead-in reality shows finally wrap for the night).

*** NOTE: NEW METRICS AND REPORTS ***

  • Total TV Overnight Top 30 and Consolidated 7 Top 30 reach is calculated using cumulative unique audiences watching 1 min of broadcast TV and 15 sec of BVOD.
  • Total TV National audience is calculated using the audience average for the program as time-coded by the Network across 5CM and all regional markets nationally watching on broadcast TV.
  • BVOD national audience is calculated using the total number of minutes watched (multiplied by co-viewing factor) divided by the length of the program.

PRIMETIME ANALYSIS

There’s no beating MAFS…it’s literally the case of by how much it wins primetime:
Married At First Sight (1,295,000 avg) on Nine (lw 1.406m)
Australian Idol (752,000 avg) on Seven (lw 710k)
Australian Survivor (532,000 avg) on Channel 10 (lw 553k)
Tuesday’s MAFS audience was more than the combination of the Aus Idol and Aus Survivor audiences(!).

The commercial 7pm offerings also ran as per the new normal:
A Current Affair (969,000 avg) on Nine
Home and Away (754,000 avg) on Seven
The Project (302,000 avg) on 10 (6:30pm-7:30pm).

The ABC’s Back Roads (511,000 avg) (lw 577k) slogs on at 8pm and kept most of its regular viewership average week to week.

The Hundred with Andy Lee (646,000 avg) (lw 741k) blitzed the field in the later primetime slot for Nine, unchallenged by Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares USA (309,000 avg) (lw 334k) on Seven, the finale of McCartney 3,2,1 (295,000 avg) on the ABC, and NCIS (DNR) on 10.
