Andrews, a Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy Award nominee, is set to portray Ray Kinnock, a formidable opponent to John Ibrahim’s quest to dominate Sydney’s nightclub scene on Oxford Street. His addition marks a significant development in the narrative, introducing a new challenge for John, played by Lincoln Younes.

The second season of Last King of the Cross promises to escalate the drama as John ventures to expand his empire, with Andrews’ character determined to thwart his ambitions. The production has already commenced in Sydney, signalling an exciting phase for the series.

The show will also feature Australian actors Luke Arnold and Matuse, taking on the roles of Dean Taylor and Benny, respectively. Both characters are depicted as emerging drug lords aiming to infiltrate John’s nightclubs, adding another layer of tension to the storyline.

Rick Maier, Paramount Australia’s Creative Advisor for Drama, expressed enthusiasm for Andrews’ casting, highlighting his potential to challenge the Ibrahim brothers on screen. He also noted the significant additions of Arnold and Matuse to the cast, underscoring the series’ appeal to actors.

Last King of the Cross is produced by HELIUM Pictures for Paramount+ Australia, with Cineflix Rights handling international distribution. The series benefits from substantial production investment by Paramount Australia, supported by Screen Australia, Screen NSW through the Made in NSW fund, and Fulcrum Media Finance, with additional support for post-production, digital, and visual effects from Screen NSW and Screen Queensland.

Mark Fennessy, Executive Producer for HELIUM, praised Andrews for his acclaimed acting career and his expected impact on the series, describing him as a vital addition to the cast. Andrews’ role as the antagonist is anticipated to bring a new depth to the series, contributing to its narrative complexity and ensemble cast.

Last King of the Cross Season Two is slated for a 2024 premiere on Paramount+.
