Prime Video is set to release the highly anticipated comedy “Ricky Stanicky” on March 7, 2024, in Australia.
The film boasts a stellar cast including Zac Efron, Jermaine Fowler, and Andrew Santino as the lead trio, alongside John Cena in a pivotal role. The plot revolves around three lifelong friends who, after a prank mishap, fabricate a fictitious person named Ricky Stanicky as their escape route from various predicaments.
For two decades, Dean, JT, and Wes (portrayed by Efron, Santino, and Fowler respectively) have relied on this imaginary figure to cover for their less mature escapades. However, things take a comical turn when their partners grow skeptical and insist on meeting the elusive Mr. Stanicky.
In a desperate move, they employ a down-and-out actor and infamous celebrity impersonator, “Rock Hard” Rod (played by Cena), to impersonate Ricky.
The hilarity intensifies as Rod immerses himself a little too enthusiastically into his “role of a lifetime”, leading the trio to regret their fictional creation. Peter Farrelly helms the directorial duties for this laugh riot, with a script crafted by a team including Jeff Bushell, Brian Jarvis, James Lee Freeman, Peter Farrelly, Pete Jones, and Mike Cerrone.
The ensemble cast is further enriched with the likes of William H. Macy, Lex Scott Davis, Anja Savcic, and Jeff Ross. Ricky Stanicky is produced by Paul Currie, Thorsten Schumacher, John Jacobs, and Michael De Luca, promising a blend of humor and heart.
