Foxtel has enhanced its streaming capabilities by adding 7plus, the latest application to join its platform, now offering a total of 15 streaming apps.

This addition is particularly notable as it brings all Australian free-to-air TV apps under one roof on Foxtel’s iQ4 and iQ5 set-top boxes, with plans to extend this service to the iQ3 model in the near future.

The integration of 7plus into Foxtel’s suite comes as a significant move ahead of the anticipated debut of Foxtel’s new aggregator service, Hubbl, later in the year. This development marks a considerable expansion in the range of content accessible to Foxtel subscribers.

Recently, Foxtel also introduced 7Bravo, a new free-to-air channel, available to its satellite customers. This expansion in offerings underscores Foxtel’s commitment to providing a diverse and comprehensive viewing experience.

Commenting on this strategic development, Gereurd Roberts, Chief Digital Officer of the Seven Network, shared his enthusiasm about the integration.

“This launch is a key deliverable in our 7plus distribution strategy, and also in line with our corporate strategic priority of Accelerate Our Digital Future.

Not only will it put our product in front of the entire Foxtel digital subscriber base, it will support the continued leadership of 7plus – already the country’s fastest-growing digital product (+35% YOY Financial Year to Date).”

“While the this has been long awaited, the timing of the launch has been critical for Seven, ensuring we have gone live with the most premium product, and with the most favourable commercial terms.

We have also secured significant on and off-platform marketing support from Foxtel, ensuring we are driving people into the 7plus platform.”

“The rollout of 7plus products will continue across the Foxtel ecosystem over the coming months, with go-live on iQ3 currently scheduled for March, and on Hubbl (Foxtel’s aggregator) to come in line with their native product launch (likely this half).”
