Australian Open 2024: Day Three Features Top Talents on Channel 9

The Australian Open 2024 continues to captivate audiences with its third day of action-packed matches, set to be broadcast live and free on Channel 9, 9Gem, and 9Now.

The event, scheduled for Tuesday, January 16, 2024, promises a day filled with high-octane tennis from some of the sport’s most celebrated athletes.

Day Session Highlights: Australian and International Stars Take the Court

Kicking off at 11.00am AEDT, the day session will see a mix of Australian and international talent. Fans can look forward to Olivia Gadecki of Australia going head-to-head with Sloane Stephens from the USA, a match that is sure to generate much excitement.

Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov, ranked 13th, will face Marton Fucsovics of Hungary, in what is expected to be a riveting encounter. Australia’s own Thanasi Kokkinakis takes on Sebastian Ofner from Austria, while fellow Australian James McCabe challenges Alex Michelsen of the USA.

Adding to the lineup, Max Purcell, another Australian contender, will compete against Hungary’s Mate Valkusz. In the women’s draw, Kimberly Birrell of Australia will meet Jelena Ostapenko from Latvia, who holds the 11th seed.

The day session also offers a free streaming feature, showcasing matches with top seeds including Iga Swiatek, Casper Ruud, Victoria Azarenka, and Tommy Paul.

Night Session: Spotlight on Alcaraz and Tomljanovic

As the evening begins at 7.00pm AEDT, the night session will see Ajla Tomljanovic of Australia in a much-anticipated match against Croatia’s Petra Martic. This match-up is a highlight for Australian tennis fans, offering a chance to support one of their own on the big stage.
