MASTERCHEF: DESSERT MASTERS proves to be a huge success for 10.

Channel 9

After A Current Affair (618,000) Nine’s night managed to stay ahead of the pack. My Mum, Your Dad (316,000) is pushed into fourth in the slot, with Million Dollar Murders (185,000) managing to keep a chunk of that audience after. Reported Missing (93,000) pulled only a small group of viewers in the late night.

Nine first in primary (17.8%) and second in network (25.5%) rankings.

Channel 7

The extending of Home & Away (443,000 7pm; 353,000 7:30pm-8:30pm Late) paid off for Seven as it delivered a much bigger audience than Big Brother Australia (156,000) did in the slot last week (and the audience didn’t hang in with the hastily rescheduled later timeslot either). US dramas S.W.A.T. (87,000) and Chicago Fire (33,000) offered solid fan service to run out the schedule.

Seven second in primary (17.2%) and first in network (26.7%) rankings.

ABC

A mixed result for the ABC with 7:30 (514,000) and Australian Story (504,000) landing a little softer though still managed the win in primetime. The premiere of Evacuation (300,000) doesn’t pull as big an audience as Four Corners normally would which affected Media Watch (347,000) similarly.Q+A (209,000) drew some lesser attention ahead of a night-ending repeat of The Trouble with Maggie Cole (DNR).

ABC third in both primary (14.6%) and network (20.2%) rankings.

Channel 10

The Project (168,000 6:30pm; 262,000 7pm) and Dessert Masters (477,000) again offered 10 a solid start to the night, with the latter managing a strong second place, and the best of the commercials in the slot. Few were interested in the season two FTA premiere of The Secret She Keeps (165,000), and even less in the double repeat of FBI: Most Wanted (74,000; 57,000).

10 fourth in both primary (11.1%) and network (17.8%) rankings.

SBS

Ooh! The Secrets of Coca-Cola (163,000) are revealed (though I think we already knew them – it was a repeat) on SBS, which paved the way for JFK: The Making of a President (144,000) and more repeated revelations on Secrets of the Tower of London (84,000).

SBS fifth in both primary (5.5%) and network (9.8%) rankings.
