It’s definitely getting tighter at the start of the week between Seven and Nine.

Channel 9

The Block (786,000) brought home the primetime win with another massive room reveal, even though it was down week-on-week. It was followed by 60 Minutes (515,000) which also delivered a timeslot win. A repeat of Under Investigation (162,000) and a new ep of Killer at the Crime Scene (70,000) kept their late-night true crime schedule alive to the end.

Nine first in both primary (26.2%) and network (33.9%) rankings.

Channel 7

The Voice Australia (653,000) delivered solid numbers for Seven (though down week-on-week), before the first double ep of Con Girl (309,000; 201,000) drew in a reasonable but not close to slot-winning audience (the second ep did take the much later slot). Born to Kill? (78,000) closed out the night.

Seven second in both primary (24.5%) and network (32.2%) rankings.

ABC

Death in Paradise (339,000) drew a reasonable audience for the ABC, before a slightly smaller crew hung in for The Newsreader (318,000) – though it did massive business in catch-up and BVOD for episode one, as shown in the Total TV report below. Repeats of Mother and Son (86,000), Annika (49,000), and Total Control (DNR) added a little weight to the back end of the night.

ABC third in both primary (10.5%) and network (14.2%) rankings.

Channel 10

10 struggled with The Sunday Project (170,000 6:30pm; 220,000 7pm) that led into an underwhelming repeat of Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly Australia (156,000). They never recovered, and new FBI (124,000) or repeats of NCIS: Hawaii (104,000) and Five Bedrooms (44,000) didn’t help.

10 fourth in both primary (6.4%) and network (11.9%) rankings.

SBS

Crime and history are the all-important ingredients for SBS, as was evidenced by The Body on Somerton Beach (131,000), Incas: The New Story (107,000), and a repeat of Egypt: Exploring the Largest Museum (50,000).

SBS fifth in both primary (4.6%) and network (7.8%) rankings.

    • TV Blackbox Yes indeed!! I’ve seen it on Goggle Box and they always comment how they watch a whole show and not one contestant picks up a tool the entire show. It’s just drama now. I’d rather watch the Real Housewives 🤣

    • James Bugelli I really don’t understand why? One series was more than enough for me and I wasn’t really interested in that – all seemed so fake to me !!
