Seven chomped on its heels the entire way.
Channel 9
The Block (812,000) room reveal again takes the win in primetime, as does 60 Minutes (407,000) which claws back a win head-to-head against its rival. 9/11: The Fifth Plane (153,000) and Killer At The Crime Scene (76,000) follow on for the late-night true-crime fans.
Nine first in both primary (24.6%) and network (31.9%) rankings.
Channel 7
The Voice Australia (725,000) runs hot but not hot enough to push into first. 7News Spotlight (374,000) also lands second, unable to unseat its major competition. Born to Kill? (102,000) and Autopsy USA (54,000) maintain smaller audiences transfixed with the macabre to the close.
Seven second in both primary (23.5%) and network (30.2%) rankings.
ABC
A repeat of Death in Paradise (349,000) picks up a few viewers before the season two premiere of The Newsreader (324,000). It delivers a reasonable start though doesn’t match the first season’s premiere from two years ago (552,000 5CM)…expect next week’s Total TV numbers for this first ep to be huge. Repeats of Mother and Son (100,000), Annika (57,000), and Total Control (DNR) see diminishing returns.
ABC third in both primary (9.9%) and network (14%) rankings.
Channel 10
The Sunday Project (209,000 6:30pm; 270,000 7pm) sees a bump ahead of the underwhelming season two finale of The Traitors Australia (294,000 (265,000 finale; 322,00 end game)) where nobody wins(!). FBI (135,000) keeps a portion of that audience before repeats of NCIS: Hawaii (91,000) and Five Bedrooms (32,000) fill out the evening.
10 fourth in both primary (8%) and network (13.7%) rankings.
SBS
History Sunday ruled the roost on SBS, from Unlocking the Secrets of Stonehenge (127,000), to 9/11: Four Flights (169,000) and a repeat of Lost Worlds and Hidden Treasures (77,000).
SBS fifth in both primary (5.6%) and network (10.2%) rankings.
