Anything over 2 million on any night – let alone a Monday – is amazing to the point of foreign.
Channel 7
The Voice Australia (789,000) slid back to 7pm, dumping Home and Away, to make sure there was time to run it ahead of the big show – and boy did it pay off for Seven. These numbers are gob-smacking…
FIFA Women’s World Cup Pre-Game (157,000 7mate)
FIFA Women’s World Cup Pre-Game (1,040,000 Seven)
FIFA Women’s World Cup: AUS v DEN (2,294,000)
FIFA Women’s World Cup: Post-Game (906,000).
The night closed out with The Blacklist (79,000), but, honestly, who really cares?
Seven first in both primary (47.3%) and network (54.5%) rankings.
Channel 9
Everything Nine could offer was always going to be affected-to-disregarded. A Current Affair (657,000) pulled a normal audience, if a bit low, though came second anyway. The Block (,000)
repeat of The Weakest Link (557,000) delivered what would have been a night-winner any other time, yet in this instance was understandably humbled. The rest of the night – 100% Footy (33,000 BNE/SYD), or Footy Classified (53,000 MEL/ADL/PER), and then Mr Mayor (33,000) barely even rates a mention.
Nine second in both primary (13.5%) and network (18.1%) rankings.
Channel 10
10 humbled to the point of not even being in the hunt. The Project (197,000 6:30pm; 278,000 7pm) down; the season two finale of Hunted Australia (387,000 avg (353,000 finale; 421,000 Extraction)) barely maintains its season average; Have You Been Paying Attention? (408,000) up slightly on last week though down nearly 100k on usual figures, and repeats of Tom Gleeson: Lighten Up (101,000) and FBI: Most Wanted (41,000) drew little interest.
10 third in both primary (8.5%) and network (12.5%) rankings.
ABC
After 7:30 (421,000) pretty much everything the ABC offered saw smaller and smaller audiences. Back Roads (358,000), Four Corners (260,000), and Media Watch (287,000) all down on their usual and much better figures, while Q+A (84,000) barely raised a blip for it’s Garma special and nobody cared about a repeat of The Beast Must Die (DNR).
ABC fourth in both primary (7.9%) and network (10.4%) rankings.
SBS
A quiet night on SBS, that started with Robson Green’s Weekend Escapes (67,000) and continued through Britain’s Most Expensive Houses (38,000) and 24 Hours in Emergency (44,000).
SBS fifth in both primary (2.1%) and network (4.5%) rankings.
