It’s the Logies, so of course Amanda Keller has found something to complain about…

Sydney radio presenter Amanda Keller has revealed on her WSFM radio show that she failed to secure an invitation to this year’s Logie Awards, despite previously receiving a coveted Gold Logie nomination.

The well-known presenter has been a fixture at the annual awards ceremony in recent years, having been nominated for the prestigious Gold Logie in 2019. She described the process, including campaigning for votes, as “hard yakka”.

The lack of a Logies invite comes at a time when Keller finds herself without a regular TV hosting role after lifestyle show, The Living Room, was put on hiatus by Channel 10 at the end of 2022.

“I’d like to think there will be future years when I’ll be part of a project and get an invite again. But the ‘resting’ of The Living Room by Channel 10, feels more like a death knell to me,”

she lamented. However, the TV veteran was quick to reassert that television wasn’t the ‘be all and end all’ of her career, adding,

“people continue living even after TV shows finish.”

Her last run for the coveted award was particularly “challenging” due to the competition with comedian Tom Gleeson, who eventually took home the Gold Logie that year.

“The logistics of the Logies this year mean it’s tougher than ever for networks to accommodate all their talent,”

she admitted.

“It’s quite a demanding night with all the fittings, clothes and, of course, Spanx. As it turns out, I’m not invited this year. But I’m fine with it; I’ll watch it on TV as usual, probably retiring around 9.30pm.”

In a light-hearted turn, her co-host Brendan Jones teased that Keller had been his ticket to “free booze” at the Logies and that “doors open” whenever he’s with her. Her swift response was:

“Well, doors are shut this year, Brendan.”

The Logies, traditionally a star-studded affair, has had to scale back this year due to space constraints at The Star venue. Nominations are prioritised, followed by on-air talent and up-and-coming stars looking for exposure. However, Keller’s predicament serves as a stark reminder that even top talent may not make the cut.

Those yet to receive an invitation might have to resign themselves to purchasing a public gallery seat, which go for about $100.
