Busy night for some, not so much for others.

Channel 9

A Current Affair (660,000) and Parental Guidance (398,000) kick off for Nine with a solid win in both slots. Police Rescue Australia (222,000) does reasonable figures before the schedule splits into 100% Footy (42,000 BNE/SYD) and Footy Classified (7240,000 MEL/ADL/PER), returning together with Mr Mayor (,000). The Ashes: First Test Day 4 S1 (618,000) draws a massive audience on 9Gem, lifting the network.

Nine first in both primary (16.3%) and network (38.8%) rankings.

Channel 7

Starting as Seven’s best, Home & Away (479,000) offers a solid start for Million Dollar Island (263,000), which slides even further on last week’s meagre numbers. US dramas load out the rest of the night with 9-1-1 (159,000), 9-1-1: Lone Star (128,000), and The Blacklist (DNR).

Seven second in both primary (15.3%) and network (22%) rankings.

ABC

7:30 (498,000) and Australian Story (448,000) offer a solid start for the ABC, building into Four Corners (417,000) and Media Watch (433,000). Q+A (212,000) draws a similar audience to the previous week, as does China Tonight (60,000).

ABC third in primary (13.1%) and fourth in network (16.7%) rankings.

Channel 10

The Project (170,000 6:30pm; 266,000 7pm) delivers its best for the week, offering MasterChef Australia (493,000) a good leg up at the front for the primetime win, and at the back from Have You Been Paying Attention? (515,000) which lands as the highest-rating entertainment program for the night. Just For Laughs Australia (177,000) and new and repeat eps of FBI: Most Wanted (75,000; 53,000) fill out the schedule with a diminishing group of viewers.

10 fourth in primary (12.1%) and third in network (17.2%) rankings.
