The public affairs race heats up with stories on two different churches falling from grace.

Channel 7

Another solids start to the week for Seven as Farmer Wants A Wife (572,000) leads primetime, and 7News Spotlight (361,000) gets the jump on its competitor as it returns with a (patchy) swipe at former Hillsong founder/pastor Brian Houston. Born To Kill? (150,000), a repeat of Manhunt (97,000), and Quantum Leap (55,000) maintain diminishing audiences as the schedule rounds out.

Seven first in both primary (22.3%) and network (29.4%) rankings.

Channel 9

Nine confident with Lego Masters Australia: Grand Masters (512,000) and 60 Minutes (335,000) as both shows offer good audiences, however both were pipped in their slots by Seven’s offerings. Australian Crime Stories (110,000) and The First 48 (69,000) also slide into second in the late night.

Nine second in both primary (20.5%) and network (27.4%) rankings.

ABC

The ABC pushes hard with Grand Designs (418,000) and Midsomer Murders (399,000) drawing competitive audiences, though repeats of Close to Me (83,000) and MotherFatherSon (29,000) don’t add much in the late night.

ABC third in primary (13.1%) and fourth in network (16.8%) rankings.

Channel 10

A huge result for The Sunday Project (187,000 6:30pm; 341,000 7pm) drawing its best Sunday audience for 10 in some time, followed by a slightly softer though still buoyant I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! (452,000). NCIS: Hawaii (179,000) and a repeat of FBI (122,000) offer a little hope as the night closes out.

10 fourth in primary (12.1%) and third in network (17.4%) rankings.

SBS

A slow night for SBS, with Lost Beasts: Secrets of the Giant Mammoths (142,000), The Black Death with Dan Snow (112,000 double ep), and a repeat of Muhammad Ali (31,000) keeping things low-key.

SBS fifth in both primary (5.2%) and network (9%) rankings.

KEY DEMOS

16-39: Seven News Sunday (109,000) led Bluey, Lego Masters Australia, Nine News Sunday, and I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!.
