PARAMOUNT+ releases official teaser for season two of STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS

Paramount+ has unveiled the official teaser trailer for the highly anticipated second season of the hit original series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

Along with the teaser trailer, new season two teaser art showcasing the U.S.S. Enterprise has also been released. The season is set to premiere exclusively on Paramount+ in Australia on Thursday, 15 June, with new episodes dropping weekly on Thursdays.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is based on the era when Captain Christopher Pike commanded the U.S.S. Enterprise.

The series stars fan favourites Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Number One, Ethan Peck as Science Officer Spock, Jess Bush as Nurse Christine Chapel, Christina Chong as La’an Noonien-Singh, Celia Rose Gooding as Cadet Nyota Uhura, Melissa Navia as Lt. Erica Ortegas, and Babs Olusanmokun as Dr. M’Benga.

Season two will also see the return of special guest star Paul Wesley as James T. Kirk, along with new addition Carol Kane in a recurring role as Pelia.

The series follows Captain Pike, Science Officer Spock, and Number One in their explorations of new worlds across the galaxy, in the years preceding Captain Kirk’s tenure on the U.S.S. Enterprise.

Season two of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is produced by CBS Studios, Secret Hideout, and Roddenberry Entertainment, with Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers serving as co-showrunners. The executive producers include Alex Kurtzman, Akiva Goldsman, Jenny Lumet, Henry Alonso Myers, Aaron Baiers, Heather Kadin, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, Rod Roddenberry, and Trevor Roth.

One of the highlights of the new season is the previously announced special crossover episode featuring both live-action and animation, with Tawny Newsome from Star Trek: Lower Decks as Ensign Beckett Mariner and Jack Quaid as Ensign Brad Boimler joining the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise.

The episode will be directed by Jonathan Frakes, known for his work as an actor and director in Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Picard.

Fans can mark their calendars for the premiere of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season two on 15 June, 2023, exclusively on Paramount+.
