The great numbers for the season nine launch of I’M A CELEB show that if you program new content that’s interesting and engaging – even in non-ratings times – the audience will tune in.

Channel 9

Married At First Sight (1,077,000) delivers a monster audience for its penultimate ep this season on Nine, solidifying its title as the biggest show on TV this decade. 60 Minutes (543,000) enjoys the halo and pulls a big audience also, while Australian Crime Stories (159,000) and The First 48 (84,000) have smaller however reasonable audiences too.

Nine first in both primary (31%) and network (37.1%) rankings.

Channel 10

The Sunday Project (259,000 6:30pm; 375,000 7pm) sees a rare boost for 10 as it leads into the season nine premiere of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! (583,000 avg (596,000 opening night; 570,000 welcome)) which delivers a solid audience and lands squarely in second place in primetime. A lot quieter for repeats of NCIS: Hawaii (225,000) and FBI (89,000) in the late night though.

10 second in both primary (16.5%) and network (21.7%) rankings.

Channel 7

A repeat of This Is Your Life (189,000) led Seven’s night and while it is indeed a two-week ratings break for Easter it got the audience it deserved. Code 1: The Childers Backpacker Fire (106,000) suffers because of it, while a repeat of Manhunt (113,000) and a new ep of Born To Kill (71,000) were never able to recover the lost audience in the late night.

Seven third in both primary (13.7%) and network (19.3%) rankings.

ABC

Death in Paradise (513,000) offers more decent ratings to the ABC on a Sunday, however it all falls apart afterwards as In Our Blood (188,000) struggles to draw an audience. Close to Me (107,000) does no better, and repeats of Finding Alice (35,000) and MotherFatherSon (DNR) close out an otherwise quiet night.

ABC fourth in both primary (10.9%) and network (14.5%) rankings.

SBS

Ancient Egypt: Top 7 Pyramids (122,000) opens a solid night for SBS, followed by repeats of Easter Island: The Ancient Builders (111,000) and Muhammad Ali (37,000).

SBS fifth in both primary (4%) and network (7.4%) rankings.
