A huge night for Nine leaves the other networks wanting…and Channel 7 pushed into third behind the ABC.
Channel 9
Married At First Sight (933,000) blitzes the field for Nine, followed by another strong 60 Minutes (524,000). Nothing came close in either timeslot. A repeat of Australian Crime Stories (138,000) and a new ep of The First 48 (79,000) finished out the late night with little hindrance.
Nine first in both primary (26.3%) and network (31.9%) rankings.
ABC
The season eleven premiere of Death in Paradise (588,000) drew a huge crowd for the ABC, and continued into a strong repeat of Vera (491,000). Further repeats of Farewell Doc Martin (181,000) and Operation Buffalo (37,000) finished out the evening.
ABC second in primary (16.8%) and third in network (20.8%) rankings.
Channel 7
Australian Idol (453,000) lifts on last week to a season high, however it was in a distant fourth place in the timeslot for Seven. A repeat of ABBA vs Queen (210,000) didn’t hold onto the audience, leaving a new double ep of Maternal (93,000; 72,000) to struggle in the late night.
Seven third in primary (16.2%) and second in network (22.2%) rankings.
Channel 10
A soft start to Sunday for 10 with The Sunday Project (167,000 6:30pm; 253,000 7pm) didn’t deter a monster episode of Australian Survivor (498,000). Repeats of NCIS: Hawaii (163,000) and FBI (103,000) didn’t continue the love into the late evening however.
10 fourth in both primary (11.7%) and network (16.6%) rankings.
SBS
Ancient Egypt by Train (168,000) kicked off a night of exploration on SBS, followed by Dan Snow’s Greatest Discoveries (118,000) and a repeat of Expedition Bermuda Triangle (86,000).
SBS fifth in both primary (5%) and network (8.4%) rankings.
