This riveting medical drama revolves around Bashir “Bash” Hamed (Hamza Haq), a doctor from Syria who flees to North America as a refugee during the civil war and becomes a medical resident in the emergency department of the fictional York Memorial Hospital in Toronto.
Adjusting to a new environment in the west, he must also overcome numerous obstacles to resume a career in the high-stakes world of emergency medicine.
Season 2 picks up where the first season left off, with Dr Hamed and his colleagues reeling after Dr Jed Bishop (John Hannah), the Chief of Emergency Medicine, suffers a stroke.
With everything at the hospital destabilised, Hamad has to deal with the upheaval as he tries to adjust to his new life, while being constantly reminded of his past in his war-torn homeland.
Fans of the show will see the core cast returning. As well as Hamza Haq, it includes Laurence Leboeuf as Dr Mags Leblanc, Ayisha Issa as Dr June Curtis, Sirena Gulamgaus as Arima Hamed, Jim Watson as Dr Theo Hunter, and The Mummy Trilogy’s John Hannah.
