After the 6pm News hour Seven’s Wednesday schedule is dead in the water.
A Current Affair (653,000) maintaining a winning position for Nine, and surprisingly the controversy on The Block (796,000) sees its numbers tick up where usually the Wednesday ep is the lowest of the week’s run. The penultimate ep of wafer-thin whodunnit drama After The Verdict (300,000) lands second in the later slot, as Footy Classified (107,000 MEL/ADL/PER), Family Law (86,000) and a repeat of Chicago Med (39,000) entertain a few in the late evening.
Nine first in both primary (24.1%) and network (32.5%) rankings.
Home & Away (488,000) again dicing with tipping over the 500k mark for Seven, however that and their news result were the only good news – if look at only 7pm to midnight the network runs a distant third, teetering on fourth. OOF. It’s easy to see why when they offer up such high quality primetime content as Armed and Dangerous (249,000) and The Chernobyl Disaster (233,000). At least Air Crash Investigations (143,000) and Chicago Fire (55,000) draw small, competitive audiences in the late night.
Seven second in both primary (18.1%) and network (25.3%) rankings.
7:30 (438,000) and a repeat of Hard Quiz (419,000) slot the ABC into second in primetime (again) and overall slide into third for the night. While both Shaun Micallef’s Mad As Hell (460,000) and Summer Love (246,000) slide on last week’s numbers, they’re still strong enough to win the later slot too. Win the Week (171,000) ticks up marginally though its now a lost cause, as repeats of Adam Hills: The Last Leg (119,000) and Spicks and Specks (27,000) close out the schedule.
ABC third in both primary (13.2%) and network (17.7%) rankings.
These numbers confirm The Project (200,000 6:30pm; 298,000 7pm) was broadcast, though they also bring into question if it was because so few people saw it to confirm that it happened. A repeat of The Dog House Australia (289,000) does nothing for 10 either, suggesting they’ve given up on Wednesdays entirely. Ghosts (147,000) and a double repeat of Bull (102,000; 65,000) air to a small, loyal audience.
10 fourth in both primary (8.7%) and network (15%) rankings.
A repeat of Tony Robinson’s History of Britain (165,000) kicks off SBS’s night, followed by a repeat of Secret Scotland (133,000) and a new ep of The Stranger (58,000).
SBS fifth in both primary (4.6%) and network (9.4%) rankings.
