10 launch a new format and build an audience, while its commercial competitors lean on nostalgia and see their shows humbled.

Oh what a night for 10. The Project (295,000 6:30pm; 432,000 7pm) does its usual Monday lift from Sunday, however Hunted Australia (711,000) saw the audience GROW for the second episode of the new franchise. Phenomenal. Have You Been Paying Attention? (679,000) also lifted on last week and likely helped its lead-in…however still a great result for 10, who would win the network night too if not for their much lower 6pm-7:30pm result. Anne Edmonds & Lloyd Langford: Business with Pleasure (169,000) deliver great comedy to a small audience in the late night.
10 first in primary (18.5%) and second in network (24.6%) rankings.

A Current Affair (690,000) again sets up Nine’s night for what should be a win, however with Beauty and the Geek Australia (405,000) slamming into fourth and dropping 15% on their low season premiere the night before it wasn’t going to be. Emergency (263,000) premieres a new season to a lower audience (should lift in next week’s TotalTV numbers), then the night splits based on footy code dependent on your state, with 100% Footy (46,000) and Footy Classified (123,000), returning with a late night airing of Manifest (44,000).
Nine second in primary (18.2%) and first in network (25.8%) rankings.

Seven’s night doesn’t quite turn out as planned, with Home & Away (429,000) running hardest and The Very Best of The Best and Worst of Red Faces (407,000) falling into a distant third place, only just above fourth. A double ep of 9-1-1: Lone Star (167,000; 131,000) offers fans some interest while The Blacklist (32,000) barely attracts that on linear first-run.
Seven second in both primary (16.9%) and network (24.4%) rankings.

7:30 (585,000) and Back Roads (538,000) pair to land second overall in primetime for the ABC with solid audiences. Four Corners (366,000) and Media Watch (374,000) both slide on last week though still maintain a solid second place. China Tonight (160,000) and a repeat of Q+A (43,000) fill out the evening.
ABC fourth in both primary (12.8%) and network (17.7%) rankings.

Saving Lives at Sea (93,000) and The Queen’s Guard: A Year In Service (102,000) start SBS’s night, which led into a repeat of 24 Hours in Emergency (100,000).
SBS fifth in both primary (4.1%) and network (7.6%) rankings.
