After protracted negotiations the Nine Network has finalised a deal with Warner Bros which will see the daytime talk show return to Channel 9
TV Blackbox can reveal the new season of Ellen will return to Channel 9 in its traditional midday timeslot from September.
There were suggestions Nine was looking to turn its back on the show after ongoing bad publicity surrounding the show and it’s understood negotiations had been ongoing for some time.
But as Nine exclusively confirms to TV Blackbox, the show is coming back after a two week break:
“The new season of The Ellen DeGeneres Show will air on Nine from September 22, we look forward to the show returning.”
The show has made international headlines recently after former staff claimed the off-camera behaviour of star DeGeneres was at odds with her likeable TV persona.
As the whispers got louder, serious claims were then made about senior executives behind the scenes. Staffers described the workplace as a “toxic work environment” with a culture of “racism, fear and intimidation” and claimed there was widespread sexual misconduct among the top executives at the show.
An internal investigation by production company Warner Brothers led to the sacking of executive producers Ed Glavin and Kevin Leman, and co-executive producer Jonathan Norman.

Just days ago executives at Foxtel believed they would be the only ones airing the Ellen show in Australia. As it stands, new episodes will play on both Foxtel and Nine.
I hope that we don’t hear anything more about this toxic workplace environment about the Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Do not give an F about Ellen,
Also do not give an F about a bunch of people who once upon a time worked in the Television and movie industry and are now whining that it was cutthroatedly competitive and “waahh my feelings got hurt”.
Great news that the Ellen Show is back on. Always good for a laugh and enlightens the day.
