Delve into the gritty lanes of Melbourne with SBS’s latest drama, Swift Street.

The series introduces viewers to the tense and fast-paced world of Elsie Masalla, a 21-year-old sharp-witted young woman portrayed by Tanzyn Crawford. As the stakes rise, Elsie and Robert embark on an adrenaline-fueled journey of theft and deception. Their mission to repay the debt becomes a deeper exploration of family ties and personal dilemmas.

Elsie’s life grows increasingly complex as she balances her longstanding relationship with her high school love, Tatenda (played by Alfred Chuol), against her emerging feelings for Aisha (Bernie Van Tiel). Complications ensue when Elsie uncovers a startling truth about her newfound ally, Tom (Keiynan Lonsdale), adding layers of intrigue and betrayal to the storyline.

The narrative of Swift Street masterfully intertwines crime and family drama, illustrating the challenging dynamics between a father and his daughter, set against the backdrop of urban crime.

Swift Street – SBS original drama premieres Wednesday, 24 April at 8.35pm on SBS and SBS On Demand (8 Parts)
