Foxtel has renewed its long-standing partnership with Netflix in a new multi-year deal, keeping the streaming service available to Platinum Plus customers as part of their subscription.
Netflix content will also remain integrated throughout the Foxtel iQ experience, alongside 15 other streaming apps available through the platform.
The renewal extends a partnership that began when Netflix became the foundation streaming app on Foxtel iQ in 2019, with the service continuing to be integrated into the Foxtel viewing experience.
Under the renewed agreement, Platinum Plus Foxtel iQ customers will continue to receive Netflix as part of their Foxtel subscription, with titles including My Brilliant Career, Outer Banks and The Gentlemen available alongside Foxtel’s local and international programming.
Foxtel Group Executive Director – Content & Commercial Partnerships Stephanie Quinn said Netflix had remained an important part of the Foxtel iQ experience since its launch.
“Netflix was the foundation app included on Foxtel’s iQ platform when we revolutionised the Foxtel experience in 2019 and has been a key part of that experience ever since,” Quinn said.
Netflix Director, Business Development – Rest of Asia (ANZ, Greater China, and SEA) Allen Pan said the partnership would continue to make it easier for Australians to access content from both platforms.
“We’re proud to extend this partnership and keep bringing the world’s best entertainment to Australian screens,” Pan said.
Foxtel Managing Director Steve O’Connor said the deal would continue to bring premium television, on-demand content and streaming services together through a single platform.
“Foxtel continues to strengthen its position as Australia’s leading entertainment aggregator,” O’Connor said.
Alongside Netflix, Foxtel iQ subscribers can access services including Prime Video, Disney+, YouTube, ABC iview, SBS On Demand, 9Now, Paramount+, 7plus, Stan, Apple TV and HBO Max, with 16 streaming apps now available through the platform.
Existing Foxtel customers can upgrade their plan to include Netflix.
