Benjamin Hussain and Jack Brubaker will headline tonight’s Alpha Boxing card in Western Sydney, streaming live on ESPN on Disney+.
The seven-fight event will feature a mix of championship bouts and crossover fights, with Olympian Paulo Aokuso and former NRL stars Tony ‘T-Rex’ Williams, Ben Roberts and David ‘Wolfman’ Williams also set to compete.
Established earlier this year, Alpha Boxing is a new Australian boxing promotion, with ESPN on Disney+ bringing its event to audiences across Australia and New Zealand.
The main event will see Benjamin Hussain take on Jack Brubaker for the IBO International Middleweight Title, with Hussain looking to continue his rise through the Australian boxing ranks.
Hussain is currently ranked fourth in Australia and has built a reputation for combining power with technical precision as he continues his professional career.
Brubaker, known as the “Cronulla Cowboy”, brings more experience to the matchup, having built a reputation for toughness and pressure throughout his career.
The co-main event will see undefeated Austin Aokuso take on Saipaier Rouzi for the WBC Australasian Light Heavyweight Title.
Aokuso has won all 11 of his professional fights, including 10 by knockout, and will share the card with his brother Paulo Aokuso, who will face Dou Wang following his knockout victory on the Tim Tszyu-Errol Spence undercard in July.
Australia’s Linn Sandstrom will face Britain’s Ruqsana Begum for the WBA Interim Flyweight World Title, with Sandstrom entering the bout as a former world title challenger.
Former NRL players Tony ‘T-Rex’ Williams, Ben Roberts and David ‘Wolfman’ Williams will also feature, with Williams facing Kamran Bahremand and Roberts taking on Williams. Roberts previously represented the Bulldogs, Melbourne Storm, New Zealand and Samoa, while Williams will make his professional debut after five amateur bouts.
