The Voice Blind Auditions continued on Monday night on Seven and 7plus, as Jeramie Heitmann secured a four-chair turn and secret fifth Coach Tones And I stepped in to save another artist from elimination.
Jeramie Heitmann, 26, from South Australia, delivered one of the night’s biggest results with her performance of Because You Loved Me by Celine Dion.
The Mount Barker singer dedicated the performance to her father, who had travelled from the Philippines for the audition, as well as her husband and two children.
All four Coaches turned their chairs, with Kate Miller-Heidke impressed by the performance and Melanie C revealing it had brought tears to her eyes.
Ronan Keating said he had not intended to turn for another female vocalist but was persuaded by Heitmann’s performance.
Richard Marx, meanwhile, spoke about the story behind Because You Loved Me and his own connection to Celine Dion as he made his pitch for the singer.
Heitmann ultimately chose Team Richard.
Another multi-chair result came for Cleo Paladino, 26, from NSW, who performed The Voice Within by Christina Aguilera.
The Annandale local arrived on The Voice stage determined to perform in front of an audience for the first time.
Paladino revealed her father suffered a cardiac arrest in 2024, an experience that inspired her to pursue her ambition and reminded her that life was too short not to take chances.
Her performance secured three chair turns. Miller-Heidke described Paladino as a naturally gifted singer, while Melanie C praised her for putting her own stamp on the song.
Paladino chose to join Team Melanie C.
Findlay Webb, 23, from NSW, also progressed after performing Survive by Lewis Capaldi.
The Bathurst musician spoke about growing up with a rare congenital heart condition, which required three open-heart surgeries during his childhood.
After feeling isolated from sport and other childhood activities, Webb turned to music and developed what became a lifelong passion.
His Blind Audition prompted chair turns from Melanie C and Ronan Keating.
Keating praised Webb’s tone and vulnerability, describing the latter as his “superpower”.
Webb chose Team Ronan.
There was no chair turn for Cris J, 25, a Queensland barista and busker originally from Chile, but his performance of Ocean Drive by Duke Dumont did not mark the end of his time in the competition.
The Gold Coast performer moved to Australia from Chile four years ago in search of new opportunities.
Although none of the four Coaches turned, Tones And I was drawn to the warmth and quality of his voice and used her power to save him.
Melanie C also praised his modern tone, while the Coaches agreed there had been strong moments in the performance.
The save makes Cris J the sixth artist recruited by Tones And I during the Blind Auditions.
In a first for The Voice, Tones And I is working as a secret fifth Coach from a hidden surveillance room, with Melanie C, Ronan Keating, Kate Miller-Heidke and Richard Marx unaware of her role.
She watches the Blind Auditions and can save performers who receive no chair turns but whom she believes have potential. Those selected enter her secret coaching program, where she mentors them behind the scenes before they receive another opportunity later in the competition.
The artists saved so far are Red Roy from Episode 1, Jamie Koul from Episode 2, Lilita Keni from Episode 3, Dicko from Episode 4, Georgia Dabbous from Episode 5 and Cris J from Episode 6.
