Rachel Hunter’s time in the jungle came to an unexpected end during Sunday night’s episode, with the international supermodel becoming the first celebrity evicted from I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! this season.
After a week of warmth, wisdom and runway tips, her departure landed with a thud rather than a roar, a result of this year’s pre recorded format, first revealed by TV Blackbox last year, with public voting limited until the finale.
Hunter, who was also correctly tipped by us prior to her jungle arrival, faced ‘reality bad boy’ Matt Zukowski in the season’s first elimination battle, a card based bluffing game that saw the pair attempt to outplay one another under pressure.
Zukowski quickly worked out Hunter’s tell, securing victory before realising he had even won and sending her through the Tunnel of Doom.
While technically the second contestant to leave after Deni Hines exited earlier by saying the magic words, Hunter is the first celebrity to be formally evicted from the jungle for the 2026 season.
Her exit also looked different to previous seasons, with the episode opening on her elimination after a cliffhanger finish, followed by no classic bridge walk, no local dancers and a subdued post exit interview filmed at night.
During her short stint, Hunter became a calming presence in camp, sharing stories from her modelling career, reflecting on her relationship with Rod Stewart and offering meditations and morale boosting compliments.
She also threw herself into trials, even thanking the animals during her first Jungle Telecommunications challenge.
Rachel took part in the series to support Little Wings, a not for profit providing free, professional transport for seriously ill children across regional NSW, the ACT and Queensland.
With two campmates gone, the jungle now narrows to Luke Bateman, Concetta Caristo, Gary Sweet, Dyson Heppell, Barry Williams, Rebekah Elmaloglou, Mia Fevola, Cyrell Paule, Matt Zukowski, Nath Valvo and late entrant George Calombaris.
