The 2025 Repco Supercars Championship has roared to a record-breaking finish, with new figures confirming it was the most-streamed Supercars season ever on Kayo Sports, as the category prepares for major broadcast upheaval in 2026.
The 13-round campaign delivered 290 million minutes streamed, marking a 42% year-on-year increase, while total viewing across Foxtel, Kayo Sports, Foxtel Go and Foxtel Now climbed 30%, making it the most-watched season on Foxtel Group platforms since 2019.
“We’ve loved bringing every heart-stopping moment of the 2025 Supercars season to audiences.
Playing an important role in the sport’s growing momentum and passionate fandom is something we’re immensely proud of.
In 2026, we look forward to taking that experience even further, delivering every exhilarating lap uninterrupted and in 4K as part of our new broadcast partnership.”
— Foxtel Group Executive Director – Commercial, Sport Adam Howarth
The Repco Bathurst 1000 topped the year as the most-streamed Supercars race in Kayo Sports history, joined by strong results for the AirTouch 500 at The Bend and the bp Adelaide Grand Final.
A raft of events – spanning the Gold Coast, Melbourne SuperSprint (AGP), Ipswich, Bathurst, Sandown, Sydney, The Bend and Townsville – also recorded their highest streaming numbers on the service.
Supercars boss James Warburton said the newly introduced Supercars Finals Series had played a central role in audience growth.
“The inaugural Supercars Finals Series has captivated fans and the numbers speak for themselves.
To see this level of growth across the Kayo Sports and Foxtel platforms demonstrates just how powerfully our sport is resonating with audiences across Australia.
Our Grand Final in Adelaide attracted an enormous national audience and delivered a fitting finale to an unforgettable year for the championship.
It sets the stage for 2026, when Toyota joins the grid and Chaz Mostert returns in the #1 Supra to defend his Supercars title.
We are proud to continue our partnership with Kayo Sports, delivering fans unrivalled access to every moment of the Repco Supercars Championship, live and ad-break free during racing.”
The renewed Kayo Sports deal ensures every round of the Supercars Championship – plus the Bathurst 12 Hour – will continue to stream live and ad-break free during racing, with more than 350 hours of live action promised across Kayo Sports and Foxtel platforms.
Major broadcast changes expected in 2026
While Supercars celebrates historic ratings, the sport is also bracing for its most significant television reshuffle in more than a decade.
As first reported by Auto Action, long-time commentator Neil Crompton is widely expected to call his final race at the bp Adelaide Grand Final, drawing to a close more than 20 years as the defining voice of Supercars. A formal announcement may occur during the event’s broadcast.
Production changes are also looming, with Gravity Media expected to finish its long tenure as Supercars’ world-feed provider. NEP is understood to be taking over the contract from 2026, bringing with it extensive experience across AFL, NRL and cricket broadcast operations.
The on-air lineup remains in flux. Auto Action reports that Mark Skaife’s future role is yet to be confirmed, though he is now considered more likely to remain in a revised capacity. Garth Tander is tipped for an expanded commentary presence, while pitlane and paddock coverage is expected to be refreshed, giving former drivers greater flexibility across roles.
The shake-up forms part of James Warburton’s broader mandate to sharpen Supercars’ television product and modernise how the category presents itself to fans and partners.
