Australia’s Top Swimmers to Compete in the 2024 Australian Open Swimming Championships
Australia’s leading swimmers are set to make waves at the 2024 Australian Open Swimming Championships, which will be broadcast live and at no cost on 9Now from April 17-20. The competition, taking place at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre, is a critical part of their preparation for the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics.
The championships will feature a stellar lineup of athletes including world and Olympic champions such as Kaylee McKeon, Ariarne Titmus, Kyle Chalmers, Elijah Winnington, Mollie O’Callaghan, and Cam McEvoy. They will be joined by Paralympic gold medallists and emerging talents, contributing to over 800 competitors at this event.
The action kicks off at 10:00 AM on Wednesday with notable participants like world-record holder Kaylee McKeown, Olympic gold medallist Zac Stubblety-Cook, and world champions Sam Williamson, Isaac Cooper, and Sam Short. Rising star Cody Simpson is also among those aiming for a spot at Paris 2024.
The first day is set to highlight a particularly competitive women’s 100m event featuring some of the world’s best sprinters, including Emma McKeon, Mollie O’Callaghan, and sisters Cate and Bronte Campbell, alongside Meg Harris, Ariarne Titmus, and Shayna Jack.
