Watch the thrilling series Dark Matter, starring Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connelly, premiere on Apple TV+ this May.
Apple TV+ has released a trailer for the new science fiction thriller “Dark Matter”, featuring Joel Edgerton, Jennifer Connelly, Alice Braga, Jimmi Simpson, Dayo Okeniyi, and Oakes Fegley.
Adapted from Blake Crouch‘s widely acclaimed novel, this Apple Original series spans nine episodes and will debut on Wednesday, 8 May with its first two episodes. Subsequent episodes will be released weekly on Apple TV+ until 26 June.
Described as a seminal sci-fi work of its time, “Dark Matter” explores the concept of the path not taken. The narrative centers on Jason Dessen (Edgerton), a physicist, professor, and family man, who finds himself kidnapped and thrust into an alternate reality during a seemingly routine walk home in Chicago.
As the wonder of this new existence sours into a nightmarish ordeal, Jason must navigate a bewildering maze of potential lives to reclaim his original life and protect his family from a chilling adversary: a version of himself.
Blake Crouch not only created the series but also serves as executive producer, showrunner, and writer. He is joined by executive producers Matt Tolmach and David Manpearl of Matt Tolmach Productions, with production by Sony Pictures Television for Apple TV+. Edgerton also contributes as an executive producer.
