The season, split into two parts, features the highly anticipated story of Nicola Coughlan‘s Penelope Featherington and Luke Newton‘s Colin Bridgerton, exploring their evolution from friends to lovers.

The newly released images provide a glimpse into the opulent world of the series, showcasing a range of characters from the ensemble cast. These include Claudia Jessie (Eloise Bridgerton), Jessica Madsen (Cressida Cowper), and Luke Thompson (Benedict Bridgerton) among others, all adorned in period costumes that reflect the grandeur of the era.

The third season of Bridgerton introduces Jess Brownell as the new showrunner. This season focuses on Penelope’s struggles and growth, as she attempts to move on from her unrequited affection for Colin, following his hurtful remarks. Despite her challenges in the marriage market, Penelope is determined to find a partner who respects her need for independence and can accommodate her secret identity as Lady Whistledown.

“I’ve decided it’s time to take a husband, preferably one who will provide me with enough independence to continue my double life as Lady Whistledown, far away from my mother and sisters,” said Penelope in a moment of reflection.

Meanwhile, Colin’s return from travels marks a transformation in his character, displaying a newfound confidence. He attempts to mend his friendship with Penelope by helping her gain confidence, which inadvertently complicates his feelings towards her.

The drama intensifies with Penelope’s growing visibility in the society and the challenges it brings to maintaining her anonymity as Lady Whistledown, coupled with her falling out with Eloise, who discovers companionship elsewhere.

Bridgerton will return to Netflix with its third season’s Part 1 premiering on 16 May 2024, followed by Part 2 on 13 June 2024.
