Alone Australia has demonstrated a upward trend in viewership, both on its linear broadcast on SBS and through digital channels, particularly SBS On Demand.
The show’s second episode has now achieved a Total TV reach of 1.03 million, showcasing significant growth from the first episode’s 812,000 viewers over a seven-day period across both the main channel and the digital platform.
This surge has propelled the second episode of Alone Australia to become the highest-rated program on SBS for the year 2024, also earning a spot in the OzTAM VPM rankings as one of the most-watched TV shows on BVOD within both 7-day and 28-day charts.
The audience figures for the second episode reveal a Total TV National Average Audience of 613,000 and a BVOD National Average Audience of 199,000. This indicates a steady increase in both the broadcast TV audience and key demographic groups on a week-to-week basis.
The recently aired third episode continued this positive trajectory, reaching a Total TV National Reach of 574,000 viewers, with an average audience of 314,000 for TV and 44,000 for BVOD.
Alone Australia is making strides in building its linear audience, with overnight figures rising consistently over the past weeks from 238,000 on March 27, to 248,000 on April 3, and reaching 270,000 on April 10. This growth is indicative of the show’s success in attracting online viewers, making it a prime example of the evolving nature of Australian TV viewing habits, which in 2023 saw episodes of the show drawing in more than 1 million viewers, nearly half of whom were from digital platforms.
