Notably, the film allows viewers to hear directly from Carl and Dennis Wilson through archival materials, alongside a new conversation with Blondie Chaplin and audio from Ricky Fataar.

Produced by a collaboration between Kennedy/Marshall and White Horse Pictures, the documentary is the creative vision of directors Frank Marshall and Thom Zimny, with Mark Monroe penning the script. The project boasts a production team led by Frank Marshall and Irving Azoff, among others, with a robust team of executive producers.

Reflecting on the documentary, Brian Wilson shared,

“I’m super happy with the way the documentary turned out, they did an amazing job. It really brought me back to those days with the boys, the fun and the music. And of course, those incredible harmonies.”

Complementing the film’s release, the official soundtrack, “The Beach Boys: Music From The Documentary,” will be accessible for streaming and download starting May 24, courtesy of Capitol/UMe. This follows the special release of the band’s 1964 album “Shut Down, Vol. 2” on limited edition blue and white marble vinyl. Furthermore, fans can explore the band’s history in greater depth through “The Beach Boys by The Beach Boys,” the group’s only official book, available now.
