Tyson Pedro announces his boxing debut against Kris Terzievski in the must-watch UNCAGED event on Stan Sport.

Tyson Pedro has declared his return to the boxing ring. The former UFC light heavyweight contender will headline the Uncaged Pay-Per-View event, exclusively on Stan on Wednesday, 12 June, marking a pivotal shift from MMA to professional boxing.

Pedro, known for his impressive tenure in the UFC, will face Australian Heavyweight Champion Kris Terzievski in what promises to be a captivating match. Terzievski, renowned for his victory over Paul Gallen and for unifying the Australian and Australasian heavyweight titles, presents a formidable challenge as Pedro seeks to ignite his boxing career.

The announcement was made at Sydney’s Liberty Hall, where it was also revealed that the event would take place at the iconic Hordern Pavilion, a venue with a rich history of hosting memorable fight nights. This bout is anticipated to be among the venue’s most significant events.

Support for Pedro’s transition into boxing was evident at the press conference, with appearances from UFC heavyweight Tai ‘Bam Bam’ Tuivasa, Penrith Panthers’ Tyrone Peachey, and Paul Gallen, each showing solidarity for Pedro’s new venture.

WBC President Mauricio Sulaimán expressed his enthusiasm for Pedro’s bold move.

“I am so excited about this great event and I’m looking forward to being there in June,”

Sulaimán remarked, praising Pedro’s courage and determination to enter the boxing world after a successful MMA career. He also highlighted the opportunity for Pedro to potentially compete for a WBC world championship should he succeed in this venture.

The Uncaged event will also feature other exciting matches, including a WBC Strawweight World Title Eliminator between Australian Olympian Alex Winwood and Joey Canoy. Additionally, Ella Boot, a rising star in Australian boxing, will go up against Tywarna Campbell in a bout that promises to be both competitive and enthralling.

Tyson Pedro brings to the ring a background of 5-0 in amateur boxing and a notable MMA career, making this fight against Terzievski not just a debut but a significant test. Both fighters expressed their anticipation for the match, with Pedro aiming to showcase his skills to the boxing community and Terzievski ready to defend his sport against an MMA crossover.

Stan’s Director of Sport Ben Kimber and boxing legend Danny Green also shared their excitement for the event, highlighting the depth of talent in Australian boxing and the potential for an unforgettable night of fights.

The Uncaged card, presented by Danny Green’s Green Machine Boxing, promises a lineup of compelling bouts, available exclusively to Stan subscribers. With the main event featuring Pedro vs. Terzievski for the WBC International Bridgerweight Title, fight fans are in for a night of top-tier boxing action.

To order and watch the Uncaged Pay-Per-View, customers will need an active Stan subscription. Stan subscribers can order the Pay-Per-View from tomorrow, Wednesday 10 April for $60. New customers can sign up for a 30 day free trial and then order the Pay-Per-View. ​
