Miriam Margolyes returns to ABC with her latest series, Miriam Margolyes Impossibly Australian, debuting on Tuesday, 9 April at 8pm on ABC TV. Fans can also binge-watch the entire series on ABC iview immediately following the premiere.
After undergoing a heart surgery in London, Margolyes confronts her fears about the uncertain future by defying the conventional advice to take things easy. Instead, she revisits Australia, a country she affectionately regards as her second abode and a land of endless possibilities.
In this three-part documentary, Margolyes sets out on a quest to explore her sense of self while embracing the concept of change. Her adventure takes her to Perth, Byron Bay, and Broken Hill, where she encounters diverse communities each undergoing their unique transformations, offering her lessons in resilience and adaptation.
Her odyssey commences in Perth, where she seeks to reconnect with her identity. Here, she shares a poignant moment with Tony and Jim, residents of Freemantle and survivors of Australia’s Stolen Generation.
