Argylle, Matthew Vaughn’s latest creation, combines action, comedy, and romance in a spy thriller.

Apple Original Films has unveiled its latest venture, “Argylle,” an action-packed comedy-romance directed by Matthew Vaughn. This eagerly awaited feature film is set to premiere globally on Apple TV+ starting Friday, 12 April 2024.

The film introduces Bryce Dallas Howard as Elly Conway, a reclusive and cat-loving author, who finds her fictional world intertwining with reality. Her novels, centered around the glamorous spy Argylle, portrayed by Henry Cavill, uncannily reflect the workings of a real spy organization.

Alongside a real-life spy, Aidan (Sam Rockwell), who detests cats, Elly embarks on a thrilling journey to outmaneuver a spy syndicate and avert a global crisis, accompanied by Alfie the cat.

The cast of “Argylle” boasts an impressive array of talent, including Bryce Dallas Howard, Henry Cavill, Sam Rockwell, John Cena, Ariana DeBose, Richard E. Grant, Dua Lipa, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, Sofia Boutella, Samuel L. Jackson, and Chip—the real-life cat owned by supermodel Claudia Vaughn (née Schiffer).

In a unique collaboration, K-pop giants THE BOYZ have reimagined “Electric Energy,” a track originally led by Ariana Debose for the “Argylle” soundtrack. This reimagined version, titled “Electric Energy (Reimagination)” by THE BOYZ, is now accessible on various music streaming platforms.

“Electric Energy” was initially penned by Gary Barlow, Stuart Price, Matthew Vaughn, and Lorne Balfe for Vaughn’s genre-defying spy thriller. The track has undergone a significant transformation under the production guidance of Stuart Price and Lorne Balfe, working alongside Platoon.

Produced by Apple Studios in collaboration with MARV, the film sees Matthew Vaughn at the helm as director and producer. The production team includes Vaughn’s longtime collaborators Adam Bohling and David Reid, alongside Jason Fuchs, with Claudia Vaughn, Carlos Peres, Zygi Kamasa, and Adam Fishbach serving as executive producers.

Apple Original Films continues to captivate audiences with its dynamic selection of content, further solidifying its reputation in the film industry. Following notable successes such as the Academy Award-winning “CODA” and “The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse,” the slate of upcoming releases includes a thriller by Jon Watts featuring George Clooney and Brad Pitt, among other highly anticipated projects.

Argylle premieres 12 April 2024 on Apple TV+.
