Emma Watkins leads a new batch of teens learning financial literacy in Teenage Boss: Next Level, coming soon to ABC and ABC iview.
The ABC and SAFC have expressed their enthusiasm about the commencement of production for the third season of Teenage Boss: Next Level in South Australia. This season continues to engage Australian teenagers by giving them the reins of their family’s finances, an especially pertinent task in an era where the cost of living is escalating rapidly and expenditures are merely a click away.
Teenage Boss: Next Level emerges as an entertaining, yet educational social experiment. This season, the show welcomes its new host, Emma Watkins, who brings her unique flair to the series. Each episode will showcase a teenager who takes over their family’s budget for a month, with the goal of instilling wise and balanced financial habits.
Libbie Doherty, ABC‘s Head of Children and Family, shared her excitement:
“We are so excited to have Emma Watkins (The Amazing Race, Emma Memma, The Wiggles) lead a new lively bunch of Teenage Bosses, building their financial literacy and teaching viewers to do the same, one South Australian family at a time.”
The sentiment is echoed by Emma Watkins herself:
“I’m thrilled to join the beloved show, Teenage Boss for its third series. I’m looking forward to working through the challenges of managing budgets with the teens themselves and hoping to learn a thing or two myself. Tighten your purse strings – I’m on my way!”
The South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC) CEO, Kate Croser, also commented on the positive impact of the series:
“After the success of South Australia’s involvement in the second season of Teenage Boss we are delighted to welcome McAvoy Media back to the state. The latest production to be supported through the ABC SAFC Content Pipeline Fund, this exciting new series will boost South Australia’s capability in the factual and documentary television production space by expanding and diversifying our bench of experienced factual crew, employing a team of creative South Australians in the field including leading unscripted creative Colin Thrupp.”
John McAvoy, McAvoy Media CEO, underlined the show’s blend of entertainment and educational value:
“Teenage Boss is a show packed full of natural jeopardy and hilarious, laugh out loud moments. All the while delivering a critically important message to teens rights across Australia. And now, with the hugely talented Emma Watkins in charge, it’s about to go Next Level.”
Teenage Boss: Next Level is a McAvoy Media production for ABC Children and Family, with funding from ABC, Screen Australia, and the SAFC. The production involves a significant investment in South Australia and NSW, with John McAvoy and Colin Thrupp leading production efforts.
