10 race into near-contention as their agreement with Football Australia pays off (for once).

*** NOTE: NEW METRICS AND REPORTS ***

  • Total TV Overnight Top 30 and Consolidated 7 Top 30 National Total TV reach is calculated using cumulative unique audiences watching 1 min of broadcast TV and 15 sec of BVOD.
  • Total TV National audience is calculated using the audience average for the program as time-coded by the Network across 5CM and all regional markets nationally watching on broadcast TV and BVOD.
  • BVOD national audience is calculated using the total number of minutes watched (including co-viewing) divided by the length of the program.

PRIMETIME ANALYSIS

While Nine’s big stripped reality show couldn’t be beaten (again), 10’s commitment to their contract with Football Australia meant a big win for the Matildas was a big drawcard for them (for the first time this year):
Married At First Sight (1,486,000 avg) (lw 1.529m) on Nine
Qualifier: Matildas vs Uzbekistan (973,000 avg) on Channel 10
The 1% Club Australia (797,000 avg) (lw 848k) on Seven.

At 7pm, the commercials kept in their lanes:
A Current Affair (1,044,000 avg) on Nine
Home and Away (760,000 avg) on Seven
The Project (311,000 avg) (6:30pm-7:30pm) on 10.

After 7:30 (626,000 avg) (lw 655k) on the ABC, the comedy Wednesday line-up suffered a little as Hard Quiz (623,000 avg) (lw 677k), The Weekly with Charlie Pickering (542,000 avg) (lw 606k), and This Is Going To Hurt (DNR) (lw 259k) all dropped week-on-week.

The later primetime airings of Under Investigation (726,000 avg) (lw 558k) on Nine and Mrs Brown’s Boys (399,000 avg | 329,000 avg) on Seven couldn’t keep up with the football game…that offered 10 their first third place of the new ratings era regarding nightly shares.

  1. Hello Steve
I was curious as to why you don’t publish the Foxtel ratings anymore
Also, why do we not get the state by state breakdown?

    Kind regards

    Greg

    • Hi Greg – Foxtel have withdrawn from the OzTAM measurement metrics, and will be launching their own this year. The new VOZ metric from OzTAM does not provide (yet – no word if they will) data in a state-by-state breakdown.
