Everyone is making choices–not all of them are good…

*** NOTE: NEW METRICS AND REPORTS ***

  • Total TV Overnight Top 30 and Consolidated 7 Top 30 National Total TV reach is calculated using cumulative unique audiences watching 1 min of broadcast TV and 15 sec of BVOD.
  • Total TV National audience is calculated using the audience average for the program as time-coded by the Network across 5CM and all regional markets nationally watching on broadcast TV and BVOD.
  • BVOD national audience is calculated using the total number of minutes watched (including co-viewing) divided by the length of the program.

PRIMETIME ANALYSIS

The big three reality shows started the week with Nine’s offering more than double it’s nearest rival:
Married At First Sight (1,732,000 avg) (lw 1.576m) on Nine
Australian Idol (874,000 avg) (lw 894k) on Seven
Australian Survivor (563,000 avg) (lw 612k) on Channel 10.

Before that all kicked off, The Sunday Project (290,000 avg) (lw 323k) on 10 struggled even to match last week’s meagre ratings. Meanwhile, on the ABC, a new episode of Death in Paradise (800,000 avg) (lw 818k) slipped a little though still did better than 10, and the premiere of House of Gods (340,000 avg) landed about where most first run drama finds itself–next week’s Consolidated 7 figures will start to reveal the strength of catch-up, particularly for our modern consumption of scripted content.

The later primetime offerings did their commercial parents (mostly) proud:
60 Minutes (860,000 avg) (lw 836k) on Nine
Ron Iddles: Good Cop (661,000 avg) (lw 577k) on Seven
repeat of NCIS: Hawaii (51,000 avg) (lw DNR) on 10.

NOTE: If you want a good representation as to why “Total TV National Reach” is a faulty metric to measure success of a program on, look at these figures:
60 Minutes — REACH 2,093,000 (2nd overall) — AVERAGE 860,000 (6th overall)
repeat of NCIS Hawaii — REACH 633,000 (20th overall) — AVERAGE 51,000 (in that list, 30th overall)
Reach artificially inflates the audience to suggest the shows – both of which run for approx 60 minutes including ads – performed way better than they did.

REACH IS NOT A THING.

    • Hi Athol – Foxtel are launching their own metric (soon, allegedly), and so have removed themselves from the OzTAM recording of ratings.

  1. That woman was a twit , not from this reality. Why would you go on the show, she didn’t even try to get to know him. He wasn’t my cup of tea but he was a person, she was a twit.

  2. This women has very deep beleave going on her head ? Maybe in to a bit of 🧙‍♀️ witch craft, or a great actor beleaveing in her self . The poor husband so scared in he’s thoughts , of no return . 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♂️

  3. Fiona Watson l actually said to my Daughter, Ash’s facial expressions, his eyes👀 remind of the saying a deer in headlights.. Poor guy.

  4. Just goes to show there’s little competition, especially shows that you have to watch several consecutive episodes per week. A win by default only.

  5. She got no air time after the honeymoon hence she wrote leave because she is only there for herself , just an awful
Shallow nut job of a woman
Poor ash he looked like a deer in the headlights
He should have been matched with Cass

  6. I think anyone who goes on this television show is in grave need of mental health therapy ASAP .
The proof is shown on every single episode. It’s No wonder the whole world is going to SHT because of crap entertainment like this.

  7. For the life of me I don’t understand the purpose of Maddy and Ash other then to make the experts look more incompetent
MAFS are calling for recruits for 2025 season what a joke the recruits are all playing the system for tv time and continue to right Stay to have air time
The purpose of MAFS has been lost This show must be axed
Lucinda her Dad and her Mum need a lounge room on google box

  8. Ash looked like a deer in headlights the entire time! Poor guy, that was cruel. They need to match him up again, but this time with someone who’s not either acting or schizophrenic.

    • Kerrin Simpson I don’t reckon he would be up for a 2nd go on this show. Production have been very cruel to have done this to him…he appeared guenuine.

    • Lorraine Patterson he definitely appeared genuine and yes you’re right, this was cruel. There’s no way she would have had “normal” interviews with them surely? Unless of course she faked her way through them too.

    • Kerrin Simpson I can’t help but think she was planted for some different type of drama…it backfired dismally and then she wanted out!

  9. Poor Ash.

If the latest contestants (with the exception of a few) are the best the ‘experts’ could find out of the thousands that applied god knows what those knocked back were like.

  10. It’s a reality tv show where they pick the worst of the worst as “ experts’ never really watch it apart from the shorts on tv … just married at first shite

  11. I feel sorry for this guy because she’s more interested in the Dead then the living. Maybe the professionals should have matched her with Casper the friendly Ghost 😞👻. I think he would have suited her better 🤣

  12. I do hope all three experts??? Apologise to Ash for their biggest stuff up ever. He was made to look like a complete fool. The so called bride should be ashamed of herself her acting was disgusting don’t think she will get job offers after this🤬🤬

  13. She should D ne’er been allowed to go in Te program because she was not a normal person from the word go the day she married that nice gentle guy
    She was a WITCH 🧙

  14. Love ASH poor bugger he’s has no clue if this chick is for real or fulla . He displays total innocence 👍💯❤️Run ASH Run safety in hiding . 👍💯

  15. What gives me the gripes is the nice people who are actually for real are paired with the worst drama/attention seeking famemongers I feel sorry for them and the so called proffessionals that thought to team them up in the first place

  16. I wonder how much bo_tox is in theire lips a couple of then should start to quack because thiere lips look a duck’s beak
