New deal sends 300 hours of UK TV to Aussie screens

Foxtel and Nine Network secure over 160 hours of premium UK programming. Find out what’s coming to your screen.

UK-based content distributor DCD Rights has brokered a deal to deliver 300 hours of scripted and unscripted content to broadcasters and streaming platforms in Australia and New Zealand.

Channel 9 in has secured the eagerly anticipated second series of The Travelling Auctioneers, ensuring audiences continue to enjoy the adventure and intrigue that the show offers.

In a notable acquisition, the Foxtel Group has expanded its programming slate with over 160 hours of content.

Highlights from this package include James Martin’s Spanish Adventure, Emergency: First Time Medics, Penn & Teller: Fool Us Series 7, and Bridezillas Series 13. Moreover, SBS, another Australian free-to-air channel, has obtained the premiere rights for Prue Leith: My Cotswold Kitchen, which is set to air on SBS Food, with Foxtel slated to present the series following its initial run.

Acorn TV, renowned for bringing British television to audiences in Australia and New Zealand, has added 59 hours of the iconic Scottish detective series Taggart to its collection, specifically acquiring series 10-18 and 23-27.

Furthermore, TVNZ, New Zealand’s national broadcaster, has enhanced its non-fiction portfolio with the acquisition of Secret Nazi Bases Series 3, Secrets Of The London Underground Series 2 and 3, and The Travelling Auctioneers Series 2.
