The first week of the reality year closes out exactly as expected.

*** NOTE: NEW METRICS AND REPORTS ***

  • Total TV Overnight Top 30 and Consolidated 7 Top 30 reach is calculated using cumulative unique audiences watching 1 min of broadcast TV and 15 sec of BVOD.
  • Total TV National audience is calculated using the audience average for the program as time-coded by the Network across 5CM and all regional markets nationally watching on broadcast TV.
  • BVOD national audience is calculated using the total number of minutes watched (multiplied by co-viewing factor) divided by the length of the program.

PRIMETIME ANALYSIS

No Australian Survivor for Channel 10 on Thursdays – instead the season four premiere of The Dog House Australia (744,000 reach | 354,000 avg) went up against (and struggled to keep up with) Nine’s reality titan Married At First Sight (2,340,000 reach | 1,229,000 avg). Seven’s usual triple ep on Thursday meant the second and third eps had to compete with some stiff competition and held a reasonable second place for Home and Away – Late (1,104,000 reach | 612,000 avg).

In the chaos that ensued, Nine’s Emergency (1,193,000 reach | 482,000 avg) pipped the first ep of Seven’s Mrs Brown’s Boys (889,000 reach | 478,000 avg) on reach but slid behind in national average. This is a significant difference, so…both won? The Dog Hospital with Graeme Hall (524,000 reach | 210,000 avg) was well behind for 10.
