ESPN Hosts Pivotal NFL Conference Championships: Ravens, Chiefs, 49ers, and Lions Eye Super Bowl Berth

ESPN is set to broadcast one of the NFL season’s most anticipated weekends, featuring the AFC and NFC Conference Championships. The stage is set for a monumental NFL Playoff Double Header on Monday, January 29, live and exclusive on ESPN.

At 7am AEDT, the Baltimore Ravens will clash with the Kansas City Chiefs in a high-stakes AFC Conference Championship matchup. The Ravens, who clinched the #1 seed in the AFC, have been a dominant force throughout the season and are widely tipped as Super Bowl favorites. They earned their spot in the championship game by overpowering the Houston Texans with a 34-10 victory, showcasing a remarkable second-half performance.

“Baltimore QB Lamar Jackson was the star once again, rushing for 100 yards – including two touchdowns.”

The Chiefs, reigning Super Bowl champions, are no strangers to this stage, marking their sixth consecutive AFC Championship game appearance. Having triumphed over the Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills, the Chiefs now face the daunting task of confronting the Ravens on their turf, a first for them in this season.

The action continues at 10.30am AEDT with the NFC Conference Championship as the San Francisco 49ers take on the Detroit Lions. The 49ers, who topped the NFC Conference, are coming off a nail-biting 24-21 victory against the Green Bay Packers. A dramatic 10-point surge in the final quarter underlined their resilience.

Running back Christian McCaffrey shone brightly, with 98 yards in 17 carries, including two touchdowns. The impressive tandem of QB Brock Purdy and receiver George Kittle will pose a formidable challenge to the Lions’ defense.

This marks the 49ers’ fourth NFC Conference Championship appearance in the past five years. On the other side, the Lions, riding high on a 31-23 victory against Tampa Bay, are making their first NFC Championship appearance in 32 years.

This is a momentous occasion for the Lions, who have never reached the Super Bowl. Their hopes rest on QB Jared Goff, who aims to lead the team into an unprecedented chapter in their history after a stellar performance in the Divisional Round.

The AFC and NFC Championship Games, along with Super Bowl LVIII, are set to be live events on ESPN, offering a thrilling viewing experience for NFL fans. Additionally, ESPN will be providing comprehensive coverage including NFL PrimeTime at 2pm AEDT, followed by the NFL Mini versions of both the AFC and NFC Championships at 4.30pm and 5pm AEDT, respectively.

For viewers across different platforms, ESPN and ESPN2 can be accessed on Foxtel, Kayo Sports, Fetch TV, and Sky NZ.
