Channel 7 Announces Return of ‘Christmas with the Salvos’ for Festive Season
In a heartfelt move to spread joy and hope this Christmas, Channel 7 has confirmed the return of the heartwarming show ‘Christmas with the Salvos’. This marks the fourth consecutive year that The Salvation Army‘s special Christmas broadcast will grace Australian television screens, set to air in December.

said Sally Bowrey, co-host of Weekend Sunrise.
This year’s program promises a star-studded lineup, featuring the familiar faces of Sally Bowrey and James Tobin, the Weekend Sunrise presenters, as hosts. Joining them are the much-loved Salvation Army ambassadors, ARIA award-winning singer Samantha Jade and celebrated celebrity chef Gary Mehigan.
They are teaming up once again to support The Salvos during this festive period. Adding to the festive spirit, viewers will also witness a special performance by Matt Evans, known for his roles in Home and Away and as a musician.

The broadcast is set to highlight The Salvation Army’s incredible nationwide efforts, including their work in aged care, youth centres, and drug and alcohol rehabilitation. A key feature of the special is the Christmas outreach program, which involves the distribution of toys, hampers, and community meals.
The airing of ‘Christmas with the Salvos’ aligns with The Salvation Army’s Christmas Appeal, aiming to raise a substantial $25 million to support those in need during the holiday season.

The program is not just a television special; it represents a significant part of The Salvos’ Christmas initiatives. During this season, The Salvation Army distributes thousands of food hampers, over 250,000 gifts and toys, and more than 132,000 meals to Australians facing challenges.
Viewers can tune into ‘Christmas with the Salvos’ on Channel 7 on Saturday, 10th December at 12.00 pm (AEDT).
Encore screenings are scheduled for Thursday, 21st December at 2.30 pm, and on Christmas Day, Monday 25th December, at 1.30 pm. The special will also be available for streaming on 7Plus from 10th December.
